Introducing Craig from Grey Triangle
Tell us a bit about yourself and your business.
“I’m a technologist at heart and progressed my career to IT project management and leadership.
I formed Grey Triangle to help take organisations to the cloud and beyond, through my own capabilities (analysis, management, strategy).
Beyond that I’m aiming to build a team of technologists, analysts, managers and strategists who can help organisations not only get in to cloud from an IT perspective but also transform wholesale and make best use of everything that cloud, technology and innovative ways of conducting business has to offer.”
How has Flower. helped Grey Triangle and yourself?
“The biggest thing for me as a start-up is peace of mind.
When I first spoke with Gordie, I instantly felt reassured that compliance was never going to be an issue. I am able to sleep at night and can focus on delivery, operational and sales aspects of the business.
Then there’s the advice and not just business advice; our relationship is one of depth and this is key going forward. Gordie is Grey Triangle’s CFO and mentor all rolled into one.
Gordie offers a mirror, a phrase we use often when we talk. Keeping me honest, holding a mirror up to me personally, my plans and direction for the business. This is invaluable when you’re going it alone, having trusted advisors around me and keeping me focused on the long term objectives, providing perspective and insight through the experience that the team at Flower bring to the table.”
What are your plans for the next 12 months and how will Flower. help you get there?
“Entirely moving away from the sub-contracting market and seeing direct B2B relationships grow the business. Employing the foundational team beyond myself and key partners like Flower, small but significant steps in the grand scheme.
The team at Flower have put the right systems in place to know exactly how we’re managing cash flow and when intervention is required based on agreed trigger points. This strategic thinking is crucial. Cash-flow is king for a start-up.”
What’s one piece of advice you would give to other business owners?
“Have a vision, write it up, use it in the business plan.
The vision may never be achieved but if that’s what you’re aiming for and you’re hitting milestones in trying for that vision, you’ll always be winning.”
